Adopt a German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat)

German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Cashmere the Dog needs a home

We will be doing adoptions on Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th from 12-4pm at Palo Alto Pet Food Express.  All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.

* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue

This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express from 12-4pm on Sat. Feb. 17th & Sun. Feb. 18th or until adopted. If interested, please fill out an application if you would like the first opportunity to meet prior to the start of the event. (We will pre-approve one home to meet per dog.)

Cashmere is a 2 year old GSD mix who was adopted out as an eight week old puppy. She is a big girl who needs to lose weight and her foster home has started on that journey. She was returned because her family moved to a smaller home and didn't have the room for her. She's a very sweet girl who loves people once she knows you. At first she's shy but once she knows you she's all about you! It took maybe a couple hours in her foster home before she was happy and expecting affection from them.

Cashmere is not as confident right off in public. She's been a house dog and hasn't spent a lot of dog out in public. She's slowly getting more and more confident. She will need that home that just goes a bit slower with introducing her to all new things. Cashmere is good with other dogs. She previously lived with another dog. She is currently living with dogs in her foster home.

According to her previous home she is housetrained. She is a dog who does well when left alone. She certainly loves her humans contact but if her new home works she is a dog who can handle it.

Cashmere is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are kids they need to be over the age of 10.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
